Welcome to the Cascade Grotto Web Site!
The Cascade Grotto would like to welcome you to the grotto website. The website is created and maintained by the membership for the pleasure of the membership (and to a lesser extent the world).
General information follows below, but for specific help, follow the link
Temporary Authentication Issues
This is a special announcement about temporary authentication issues. We are working on fixing a bug at http://www.cascadegrotto.org that is preventing people from correctly editing or adding content. Please use http://cascadegrotto.org instead (note lack of WWW.)
Browser Support
You should use Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 if you can. The Cascade Grotto website is hosted on a SharePoint 2007 Server, and it is designed to work with Internet Explorer
There are no aspects of the reading or basic editing and administration that cannot be done using a third party browser (just the deep ties to Windows and Office that make SharePoint server really easy to use).
So if you are on a Macintosh, I personally recommend Firefox 3.
Resolution
Minimum resolution of 800x600. Bigger is better (up to a point).
Public versus Private
The Home page of the Cascade Grotto is a public website. Anything that you can see on the home page without logging in can be seen by everyone in the world, please act accordingly. Pages within the secure section of the web site are not available to the general public, but we should still be careful. Posting of locations or directions to a cave is not permitted by the Cascade Grotto.
Please only post your own contact information in the public side of the website. You probably don't know how your favorite caver feels about their name and or email on the web.

What is a wiki library?Wikiwiki means quick in Hawaiian. A wiki library is a document library in which users can easily edit any page. The library grows organically by linking existing pages together or by creating links to new pages. If a user finds a link to an uncreated page, he or she can follow the link and create the page.
